By the numbers, 2025 was relentless.

I published 15,516 posts on Political Wire last year — an average of more than 42 posts a day. 

Members — who make this site possible — received 531 exclusive posts, plus 52 podcast episodes, 24 issues of Inside Elections, and 12 editions of Ballot Access News — a steady stream of analysis you won’t find anywhere else.

And then there was the conversation.

Readers left 1,469,071 comments in 2025. That’s over 4,000 comments per day, turning Political Wire into one of the most active political discussion spaces anywhere on the internet.

In short: more news, more insight, more debate — and a community that showed up every day.

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.

Goddard is also co-author of You Won - Now What? (Scribner, 1998), a political management book hailed by prominent journalists and politicians from both parties. In addition, Goddard's essays on politics and public policy have appeared in dozens of newspapers across the country.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
