Zohran Mamdani told an influential group of business leaders that he would not use the phrase “globalize the intifada,” which has been seen as a call to violence against Jews, and would “discourage” others from doing so, the New York Times reports.

“The phrase has been a rallying cry among opponents of the war in Gaza, and Mr. Mamdani, an ardent critic of Israel’s military operations, had refused to condemn its use during the Democratic primary race that he won in June.”

“Andrew Cuomo is scrambling to reinvent himself in an uphill general election bid for New York City mayor,” Politico reports.

“His pitch: The former three-term governor is running as an underdog — speaking with voters, boosting his online presence and attempting to appeal to New Yorkers under 30. In sum, it’s the opposite of how he ran his failed primary.”
