Brianna Keilar interviewed Ben Carson on CNN about the video showing Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault:

KEILAR: You’ve heard talk like this?

CARSON: Of course. Are you kidding me? People are always trying — when I was growing up, people were always talking about their sexual conquests and trying to make themselves appear you know like Don — Casonova. I’m surprised you haven’t heard that.

KEILAR: I haven’t heard it.

CARSON: Maybe that’s the problem.

In one of the more extraordinary moments of a political convention, Dr. Ben Carson said America doesn’t want a president whose role model acknowledges Lucifer.

Ben Carson joked that “if his mother did not have Alzheimer’s Disease, she would have likely taken to arms and gone after the ‘dishonest reporters’ covering the campaign herself,” Politico reports.

Said Carson: “She has Alzheimer’s. She’s not really cognizant of that, which is a good thing because my mother is really a fighter. She probably would have taken a gun and gone out and shot some of the dishonest reporters.”

Ben Carson has been placing calls and “reaching out to everyone” to make the case that despite Donald Trump’s insults in the primary race, the party needs to come together, the New York Times reports.

The outreach includes Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush, all of whom were frequent targets of insults from Mr. Trump during the primary campaigns.

Donald Trump told the New York Times that he’ll make his vice presidential running mate pick in July, and that former rival Ben Carson is heading a committee to vet potential candidates for the position.

Ben Carson told Morning Joe that “it would be a disaster for the Republicans” to nominate a GOP candidate that isn’t Donald Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz in a contested convention.

Said Carson: “I would not be enthusiastic about whoever it was if it wasn’t one of the people who spent all this time, all this effort, all of this resource in order to get there and then we toss them out. If it’s not Senator Cruz or Mr. Trump, I think we have major problems brewing.”

Ben Carson told Newsmax that even if Donald Trump turned out to be a bad president, he’ll only be in office for four years.

Said Carson: “Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don’t think is the case, I think he’s going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn’t, we’re only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever.”
