When Huma Abedin’s Private Life Went Public

October 18, 2021 at 5:04 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Huma Abedin has an excerpt of her new book in Vogue on the moment she got a text message from her then-husband, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY): “My Twitter was hacked and someone posted a photo. There might be a story, but I am working on fixing the problem. Nothing for you to worry about. See you soon.”

“He told me not to worry, so even though the concept of being hacked was unsettling, I didn’t. I just saw this as yet another item on the unending stream of incoming. Anthony was the problem solver in our relationship, and since he said he was handling this one, I was sure he would.”

Huma Abedin Gives Marriage Another Try

March 25, 2017 at 11:06 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

New York Post: “After years of public humiliation by her sext-a-holic husband, Anthony Weiner, 40-year-old Abedin finally separated from the former congressman in August, one day after The Post reported that he had sent yet another explicit photo to a woman — this one showing his toddler son asleep beside him.”

“But sources tell The Post that Hillary Clinton’s righthand woman is now giving the marriage another try.”

Clinton’s Top Aide Frustrated by Use of Private Email

June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“A top aide to Hillary Clinton said the former secretary of state’s use of a private e-mail server to conduct government business on at least one occasion got in the way of Clinton’s work and left the aide frustrated,” Bloomberg reports.

“Huma Abedin, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff and now the vice chair of her presidential campaign, was being deposed about the context of a November 2010 e-mail she sent Clinton that they ‘should talk about putting you on state email or releasing your email address to the department so you are not going to spam.’ Prompting the note, according to the e-mail chain released last week by the State Department under the Freedom of Information Act, was a missed scheduled phone call, one of a number of communications mishaps detailed in Clinton’s 55,000-page e-mail record.”

Trump Ally Suggests Clinton Aide Is a Possible Terrorist

June 13, 2016 at 11:15 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 67 Comments

Roger Stone, an informal adviser and friend of Donald Trump, suggested that Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin could be a “Saudi spy” or a “terrorist agent,” Politico reports.

Said Stone: “I also think that now that Islamic terrorism is going to be front and center, there’s going to be a new focus on whether this administration, the administration of Hillary Clinton at State was permeated at the highest levels by Saudi intelligence and others who are not loyal Americans. I speak specifically of Huma Abedin, the right-hand woman, now vice-chairman or co-chairman of vice—of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.”

‘The Most Mortifying Movie Ever Made’

May 24, 2016 at 11:16 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 43 Comments

Vanity Fair: “An extraordinary and flabbergasting documentary film opened last week: Weiner, directed by Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg. An intimate, unblinking look at Anthony Weiner’s disastrous 2013 campaign for New York City mayor — which was derailed by revelations that he had continued sexting multiple young women even after a previous sexting scandal had forced him to resign from Congress in 2011 — Weiner might well be the most mortifying movie ever made, even including Mortdecai.”

“My first thought after seeing the film was, like most people’s, What were Anthony Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin (longtime Hillary Clinton aide), thinking when they allowed some of the most painful, excruciating moments in their marriage to be filmed? My first and a half thought: What would a shrink make of all this?”

Issa Says FBI Has Evidence to Indict Clinton

January 29, 2016 at 2:10 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 87 Comments

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) told the Washington Examiner that the FBI has enough evidence right now to indict Hillary Clinton and her aide Huma Abedin, but that FBI director James Comey is being constrained.

Said Issa: “I think the FBI director would like to indict both Huma and Hillary as we speak. I think he’s in a position where he’s being forced to triple-time make a case what would otherwise be, what they call, a slam dunk.”

Hillary Clinton’s Most Trusted Aide

July 2, 2015 at 7:20 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 13 Comments

Politico profiles Huma Abedin, who is “is weaning herself slowly away from a life on the road to occupy a perch overseeing the campaign operation and serving more often as an independent surrogate for her boss.”

“Her elevation comes as longtime top Clinton aides like Cheryl Mills, Maggie Williams and Philippe Reines have receded in influence and are not functioning as part of the current campaign’s inner circle. Instead, Abedin has been elevated to the most senior member of Clinton’s old guard, and the person filling a role Clinton has always valued: that of the strong, trusted, female advisor.”

On That Chipotle Visit

May 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 17 Comments

Washington Post: “One afternoon in April, Bill Clinton looked up at a television in his midtown Manhattan office and saw the grainy security-camera photo of his wife and her aide, Huma Abedin, at a Chipotle in Ohio, appearing incognito in dark sunglasses. He turned to aides and wondered, ‘What are she and Huma doing? Are they robbing that place?'”
