The Ohio Democratic Party had Rep. George Santos (R-NY) give an unsolicited endorsement to U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno (R).
“Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) raised an eye-popping $5.8 million in the third quarter of this year, leaving the vulnerable Democratic incumbent with a pile of cash heading into a tough reelection campaign,” Politico reports.
“Though many incumbents and candidates are still releasing their numbers, Brown’s haul is the biggest announced so far for this quarter. He will report having $11.2 million on hand.”
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) “launched a long-anticipated Senate bid Monday, becoming the third prominent Republican to run in an already fractious primary clash that will determine who takes on Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown in 2024,” NBC News reports.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) is alerting Republican donors that he plans to jump into his state’s already combative Senate primary “soon,” NBC News reports.
“Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, a potential candidate in the race to unseat Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, recently told a group of Ohio Republicans at a closed-door political event that while Trump’s endorsement ‘matters,’ it doesn’t carry the same weight it used to,” Politico reports.
“He pegged the proportion of Republican voters who would ‘vote for whoever’ Trump endorses at just 20 percent.”
Bernie Moreno (R), a self-funding businessman who abandoned a 2022 bid for Senate in Ohio after huddling with former President Donald Trump, will try again in 2024, NBC News reports.

Dolan, a state senator whose family owns the Cleveland Guardians, would likely be the first candidate on the GOP side to officially declare. Other Republicans closely looking at the race include Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and Bernie Moreno, a businessman who briefly was a Senate candidate in 2022.”
