Donald Trump’s tweet attacking his own vice president for lacking “the courage” to overturn the election for him ― enraging the January 6 Capitol mob even further ― came just minutes after learning that Mike Pence had been removed from the Senate chamber for his own safety, the HuffPost reports.

After evading attempts for weeks by a civil process server that included being “pursued over state lines,” ex-Donald Trump lawyer Sidney Powell was served with a $1.3 billion lawsuit at her home in North Carolina, the Asheville Citzen-Times reports.

However, no one informed Trump about Parscale’s return last month… Trump fired Parscale last summer amid allegations he’d stolen money from the 2020 campaign.”

John Podhoretz: “I understand Republicans in the Senate are not going to vote in sufficient numbers to convict Trump—let’s say because their constituents do not want it, he poses a political danger to them, and, who knows, they might actually fear for their lives from the same kinds of people who were in the building on January 6. But how can they have watched the footage of Mitt Romney narrowly avoiding his own murder and not understanding that could have been any one of them? And how can they avoid the understanding that the mob was there because Trump summoned a crowd to Washington on that day?”

A Trump team adviser told CNN that former President Donald Trump could be in serious legal jeopardy if he finds himself charged in criminal court for the charges he’s facing in his impeachment trial: “Trump is fucked if anyone ever charges him. No one wants to work with him.”

“As the Senate’s impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump begins Tuesday in Washington, a matter even more important to his immediate future is being discussed some 990 miles to the south by the Palm Beach Town Council: Whether he can continue living at Mar-a-Lago,” the AP reports.

That was the deal Trump’s lawyer offered nearly 30 years ago: He told the town in 1993 that Trump would be prohibited from living there if it allowed him to convert it from a residence to a club. “Last year, Philadelphia lawyer Michael van der Veen filed a lawsuit against then-President Donald Trump accusing him of making ‘repeated claims’ that mail voting is ripe with fraud ‘despite having no evidence in support of these claims,'” the Washington Post reports.

“This week, van der Veen is adopting a different posture as part of the team of attorneys defending Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election result in his Senate impeachment trial.”

Trump struggled to find lawyers to take on his case, parting ways with several who were unwilling to claim that the 2020 election was stolen, as the president is said to have wanted them to do.”
