President Trump told Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a letter that he will deliver State of the Union before Congress next week, despite her request for a delay during shutdown, the Washington Post reports.
“It was unclear how Trump would address lawmakers Jan. 29, as the House and Senate must pass a concurrent resolution for a joint session of Congress to hear the president.”
New York Times: “The letter is the latest move in a game of brinkmanship between the two over the address.”
