The U.S. Treasury “will exhaust by Nov. 3 certain emergency cash-management measures — and risks running out of cash shortly thereafter if the federal borrowing limit isn’t raised by Congress,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
“The latest estimate moves forward the point at which the Treasury says it could fund the government’s operations on daily cash flow, raising the risk that it would be unable to make full payments to federal workers, soldiers, pensioners or bondholders.”
