Are we so close to a dictatorship that Americans are comfortable muzzling the free speech of good people like Exxon and Haliburton?

  • Would support or do support? This law is already on the books? Or do you mean bill, or hypothetical bill? Even the survey uses this ambiguous language. But then calls it a proposal.

It says “a new law” and they WOULD support it. Nothing like this kind of public “matching of small donations” exists now.

      • But a law is a bill signed by the president. A proposal is an idea. A bill is a crafted, unsigned law. If it doesn’t exist, it’s not a law. So they can’t support a law that doesn’t exist.

“Americans support a new law” should be “Americans would support a new law.”
