Anger Erupts at Republican Town Halls

February 10, 2017 at 7:30 am EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“On Thursday night, two Republican members of Congress — Reps. Jason Chaffetz of Utah and Diane Black of Tennessee — were each confronted with impassioned constituents during simultaneous events,” CNN reports.

“The shouted questions, emotional pleas and raucous protesters of the evening crystalized the GOP’s tough political road ahead as it forges ahead with rolling back Obama’s accomplishments, including the Affordable Care Act.”

Salt Lake Tribune: “Chaffetz tried to respond to questions, but many of his answers went unheard. The din of the hostile and harassing audience that filled the 1,000 seats of a high school auditorium Thursday night drowned him out… When the congressman did get a chance to speak, the crowd often didn’t like what he had to say. And he knew it.”
