Rudy Giuliani floated a new line of defense regarding hush money payments President Trump made to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal in an unsolicited text message to The Hill.
Giuliani argued that those payments would not violate campaign finance laws “even if a purpose was to aid the campaign.”
He added that such payments would be defensible, so long as “there is a strong personal component to a payment — like protecting your wife, children and family from scandal.”
