The Democratic proposal, which extends current government funding levels for two weeks but does not include border wall funding, was rejected on a 52 to 44 vote, also not meeting the 60-vote threshold though 6 GOP senators backed the measure (Collins, Gardner, Murkowski, Romney, Alexander and Isakson).
