In response to economic turmoil caused by the coronavirus outbreak, President Trump said he will ask Congress for a “payroll tax cut or relief” during meetings with Republican leaders tomorrow, the Washington Post reports.
Said Trump: “Hourly wage earners getting help … so that they don’t get penalized for something that’s not their fault. It’s not their fault, it’s not our country’s fault.”
Trump did not address any public health solutions to the outbreak and would not take questions but said he would hold a news conference tomorrow.
