The House and Senate will attempt to pass a two-day spending bill this evening, in order to avert a government shutdown over the weekend.
However, it takes just one senator to block the bill.
Washington Post: “Congressional leaders would still continue to work on the larger stimulus package with the hopes of announcing a deal, possibly as soon as Friday night… The short-term spending bill would then give lawmakers time to review the bill before voting on it either over the weekend or at the beginning of next week.”
