Schumer Says Debt Must Be Raised This Week

“Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said on Monday that Congress needs to get a bill raising the debt ceiling to President Biden’s desk by the end of the week, an ambitious timeline given an entrenched stalemate between Democrats and Republicans,” The Hill reports.

Said Schumer: “Let me be clear about the task ahead of us: we must get a bill to the President’s desk dealing with the debt limit by the end of the week. Period.”
