Trump Could Face Years in Prison

Washington Post: “The seven-count indictment has the potential to land Trump in prison for years if he is found guilty. He has denied any wrongdoing.”

Semafor: “Taken together, the charges would carry a weighty sentence in the event of a conviction: a violation of the illegal retention statute, for instance, calls for a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail, while witness tampering carries a maximum of 20 years.”

Said former FBI General Counsel Andrew Weissmann to MSNBC: “There are people in jail who’ve done far less than what Trump’s charged with.”
