Tampa Mayor Caught $1.1 Million in Cocaine on Fishing Trip

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor (D) was fishing off the Florida Keys and hauled in a package that turned out to be 70 pounds of cocaine with a street value worth $1.1 million, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

“The family hauled the package, wrapped in layers of fraying plastic and about the size of a microwave, onto Mayor Castor’s boat, bloodied from hours of fishing. A split in the wrapping revealed tightly packed bricks individually packaged.”
