Speaker Mike Johnson ruled out bringing the Senate’s foreign aid bill up for a vote, saying that he is focused on averting a government shutdown early next month, Punchbowl News reports.
When asked if he sees a scenario in which he would put the bill on the floor, he said: “I certainly don’t right now. We’re dealing with the appropriations process. We have immediate deadlines upon us in that. That’s where the attention of the House is in this moment.”
