Thune Says House Spending Cuts May Be Too Steep

“Senate Majority Leader John Thune told GOP senators during a closed-door lunch Tuesday that it will be extremely difficult to achieve the $1.5 trillion in spending cuts outlined in the House Republican-passed budget resolution,” Punchbowl News reports.

“Thune, who was answering a question about potential cuts to Medicaid benefits, said Republicans are going to have to ‘make hard choices’ in order to achieve the spending cuts that could be necessary in a budget reconciliation package.”
