Ron Johnson Won’t Be Swayed by Trump’s Pressure

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) continues to be a problem for the Republican leadership, telling Punchbowl News the House reconciliation bill doesn’t cut spending nearly enough.

“When we pointed out to Johnson that many House members expressed the same concerns and then folded when Trump swooped in, he was defiant.”

Said Johnson: “In the House, President Trump can threaten a primary. Those guys want to keep their seats, I understand the pressure. He can’t pressure me that way.”
