House Republicans, dismayed by Elon Musk’s harsh criticism of President Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” are now trying to talk their erstwhile ally down from the ledge, Axios reports.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said he called Musk yesterday but that the recently departed Trump adviser “didn’t answer,” adding that he hopes to “talk to him today.”

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.

Goddard earned degrees from Vassar College and Harvard University. He lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
