“President Donald Trump threatened to deploy U.S. military forces to quell protests in Minnesota in response to violent encounters involving federal immigration agents,” Bloomberg reports.
Wrote Trump, on Truth Social: “If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT.”
“The 1807 law allows the president to use regular military forces for domestic law enforcement. The last time it was invoked was in 1992 in response to riots in Los Angeles after a policeman was acquitted in the beating of Rodney King.”
