Former Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-NE) resigned from the board of a clean energy company after emails showing an association with Jeffrey Epstein were made public earlier this month, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.
Kerrey said others on the board “were panicked by the fact that I attended a meeting” with the disgraced financier 13 years ago.
He added: “I do recognize the sensitivity of this issue, but I do not like working with people who panic easily. So I tendered my resignation.”
