“Israel Katz, the Israeli defense minister, said on Monday that country’s military had launched a ‘ground maneuver’ in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed armed group, effectively expanding a ground invasion there,” the New York Times reports.
“Israeli troops have been gradually widening a buffer zone they control inside Lebanon for days, the military said on Monday, before ramping up the assault.”
