Millionaires Overrepresented in the U.S. Senate

“At least 73 of the 100 sitting U.S. senators have a median net worth of more than a million dollars,” according to a NOTUS analysis of lawmakers’ most recent financial disclosures.

“That may not surprise most Americans, who believe that people run for office to make a lot of money. But it’s hardly representative of the United States, where millionaires make up around 7% of the population.”
