“Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has a massive problem on his hands. Negotiations with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) have blown up,” Punchbowl News reports.
“Blanche’s nomination for the permanent AG job is supposed to get a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee in less than 24 hours, but it’s no longer clear whether that’s going to happen.”
Said Cornyn: “To me, it’s pretty simple. But for some reason — I don’t know whether it’s the staff of the DOJ or who it is — but they simply know what they need to do, but they simply refuse to do it.”
Politico: Blanche nomination hangs by a thread as Cornyn stands by settlement ultimatum.
