Former Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), who left office in 2023 after a series of scandals, is launching a comeback campaign in Florida, the Washington Post reports.

Cawthorn announced Wednesday that he is running for the state’s 19th congressional district, a seat that is open next year because the incumbent, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), is running for governor.
