Evangelist Calls for ‘Day of Prayer’ to Protect Trump

Franklin Graham, a prominent evangelical supporter of President Trump, is calling for Christians across the country to set aside this Sunday as a “special day of prayer” for the president, the HuffPost reports.

Said Graham: “President Trump’s enemies continue to try everything to destroy him, his family, and the presidency. In the history of our country, no president has been attacked as he has. I believe the only hope for him, and this nation, is God.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham called on Pete Buttigieg to “repent” for being gay.

Graham called homosexuality “something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized.”

He added: “God doesn’t have a political party. But God does have commandments, laws & standards… Mayor Buttigieg says he’s a gay Christian… The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman—not two men, not two women.”

Franklin Graham Says Kavanaugh Allegation ‘Not Relevant’

Evangelical leader Franklin Graham told the Christian Broadcast Network that the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was just “not relevant.”

Said Graham: “It’s just a shame that a person like Judge Kavanaugh who has a stellar record — that somebody can bring something up that he did when he was a teenager close to 40 years ago. That’s not relevant.”

He added: “She said no and he respected it and walked away.”

Graham Says Stormy Daniels Is ‘Nobody’s Business’

Evangelist Franklin Graham told the Associated Press that the whole Stormy Daniels scandal was “nobody’s business.”

He added: “This stuff happened 12 years ago. This isn’t behavior that has taken place since he’s been president. These things happened long before he became president. That doesn’t make it right. And I don’t defend those kinds of relationships he had. But the country knew the kind of person he was back then, and they still made the decision to make him the president of the United States.”

“Prominent evangelical leader Franklin Graham has quit the Republican Party because the omnibus spending bill passed last week in Congress will continue to fund Planned Parenthood,” Politico reports.

Graham, who declared himself an independent in a Facebook post, said, “I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America. Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble.”
