Who Will Be the First Woman President?

April 9, 2018 at 10:54 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Jennifer Palmieri, former Hillary Clinton communications director and author of Dear Madam President: An Open Letter to the Women Who Will Run the World, joins Chris Riback for a great discussion of what the first woman president needs to know.

Rather than dwell on the results of the 2016 election, Palmieri turns the experience into something very empowering for future female leaders.

Clinton Campaign Felt Reporters Ignored Russia Story

July 12, 2017 at 11:02 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Top Clinton aide Jennifer Palmieri told the HuffPost that she tried to feed the Russia hacking story to reporters during the 2016 campaign but no one seemed to care.

Said Palmieri: “It was so surreal. I felt as if I had been catapulted into another dimension where we would have these surreal conversations about the Russians and Trump and Mike Flynn and Carter Page and Donald Trump Jr. saying, ‘We’re really invested in Russia.’ And no one in the press really cared.”

Quote of the Day

December 13, 2016 at 8:30 am EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“It’s pretty soul crushing to have that come out now and confirm that they were, in fact, trying to help Donald Trump. And just as an American in the year 2016, 30 years after the Cold War, not something I ever imagined we’d have to worry about.”

— Clinton aide Jennifer Palmieri, interviewed on MSNBC, on the CIA’s conclusion that Russia was trying to sway the presidential election.

Exits Begin at the White House

February 5, 2015 at 4:31 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 4 Comments

“With the end of Barack Obama’s presidency looming on the horizon, the question buzzing inside the White House is who will be there to turn off the lights on the last day of his administration,” CNN reports.

“The departures of senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer, an Obama veteran from his first presidential campaign, and Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri, are expected as soon as early March, leaving White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough with some big shoes to fill. That’s on top of the recent news that Counselor to the President, John Podesta will step aside in mid-February for a senior role in Hillary Clinton’s expected race for the White House.”

Clinton Picks Communications Team for Campaign

February 5, 2015 at 8:06 am EST By Taegan Goddard 19 Comments

Jennifer Palmieri will leave her job as White House communications director for a comparable role with Hillary Clinton’s expected presidential campaign, the Wall Street Journal reports.

“The move locks in place another top position on Mrs. Clinton’s campaign team, should she choose to run. Ms. Palmieri has connections to both the Obama and Clinton worlds, having worked in Bill Clinton ’s White House in the 1990s. She is also close to another figure who bridges both the Obama and Clinton worlds: John Podesta.”

New York Times: “Given the transformed media landscape, Ms. Palmieri is expected to have a team that will include other senior press aides. Brian Fallon, currently at the Justice Department, is expected to potentially handle rapid response, and Karen Finney, a longtime Democratic operative and MSNBC regular, could serve as a press secretary.”
