Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) invited supporters to a breakfast fundraiser for Rep. John Carter (R-TX) this morning in San Antonio, Politico reports.

“It’s incredibly rare for any lawmaker to help raise money for someone of the other party. But Cuellar raising money for Carter is even more shocking considering the Texas Republican is in a surprisingly tight race against Democratic standout candidate M.J. Hegar.”

“Adding to the drama: Hegar has been endorsed by the Blue Dog Coalition, of which Cuellar is a co-chair!”
