Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) said that President Trump’s mocking of her election loss was “hurtful,” adding that he has “no real relationships, just transactions,” CNN reports.
Said Love: “The President’s behavior towards me made me wonder: What did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican. It was not really about asking him to do more, was it? Or was it something else? Well Mr. President, we’ll have to chat about that.”
President Trump threw Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) under the bus, saying she lost her re-election bid because she didn’t embrace him enough on the campaign trail.
But UtahPolicy.com has confirmed that President Trump recorded a campaign robocall for Love’s campaign in the final days of the 2018 election in which he touted Love’s efforts to secure the release of Utahn Josh Holt from prison in Venezuela.
Rep. Mia Love’s (R-UT) campaign “has informed the Federal Election Commission that it will refund or redesignate less than half of what the government says was more than a million dollars improperly raised for a primary that was never expected to happen,” CNN reports.
“The commission sent Love a letter in August saying the Utah Republican’s campaign had violated federal guidelines about money for primaries. In Utah, candidates are not allowed to raise such funds if they have no primary.”
