Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen vowed that pro-Trump rioters who entered the U.S. Capitol would “face the full consequences of their actions under the law,” and those consequences could include being charged under President Trump’s executive order authorizing up to 10 years in prison for “injury of federal property,” Fox News reports.

Bombs Were Planted at RNC and DNC Offices
Federal law enforcement officials say the devices found near the RNC and DNC headquarters on Wednesday were actual explosive devices, not phonies, Fox News reports.
West Virginia Lawmaker Among Mob Storming Capitol
“A newly-elected member of West Virginia’s House of Delegates was among the mob who stormed the U.S. Capitol today,” West Virginia Metro News reports.
“Derrick Evans (R) livestreamed and then deleted videos from inside the Capitol, but others took screenshots and videos of the original videos.”
One video shows him in the Capitol interior while surging through a door. He says, “We’re in! We’re in! Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!”
Pipe Bomb Found at RNC Headquarters
“An explosive device was found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee in Washington and the nearby headquarters of the Democratic National Committee was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package on Wednesday,” the New York Times reports.
Meanwhile, CNBC reports the FBI “is investigating suspicious devices after reports of improvised explosives on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.”

Trump supporters broke through fences and are fighting the police on the steps of the Capitol as Congress counts the Electoral College ballots inside, CNN reports.

“The leader of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, was arrested by D.C. police Monday afternoon on a warrant charging him with burning a Black Lives Matter banner taken from a historic Black church during a demonstration last month,” the Washington Post reports.

“On the afternoon of October 21, seven Phoenix police officers gathered for a briefing in a Cave Creek station when the meeting diverged into a discussion about the defund-the-police movement,” the Arizona Republic reports.

The sergeant broke the silence, saying: “You’re not going to shoot the mayor.”
