First Read: “On Monday, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., became the latest Democrat to jump into the 2020 waters, joining Sens. Elizabeth Warren, and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and current/former Reps. Tulsi Gabbard and John Delaney.”

“And it means that there are four big questions left about the emerging Democratic presidential field. Call them the four Bs — Biden, Bernie, Beto and Bloomberg.”

“None of this is to say that other Democrats thinking about entering the 2020 contest — Cory Booker, Amy Klobuchar, Sherrod Brown, etc. — can’t influence the Dem race or even win the nomination. But when it comes to the overall composition of the Dem field — and the different possible lanes of support — the four Bs are the ones to watch.”

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.
