“House impeachment investigators will present evidence against President Trump to the Judiciary Committee on Monday, a key step before Democrats finalize articles of impeachment,” Politico reports.
Playbook: “An impeachment takes up a lot of oxygen in the Capitol. It’s fair to say that the foreseeable future will be dominated by the impeachment articles: revealing them, debating them and voting on them.”
“We don’t know exactly how long this entire process will take, because we don’t have a ton of precedent. The precedents we do have — Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon — are only modestly helpful, because the charges were so different (in Clinton’s case) or never voted on (in Nixon’s), and the media climate is so different now.”
