Texas is the Big Prize for Democrats

In any ordinary analysis of where Joe Biden’s campaign should focus its efforts in 2020, Texas would be relatively low on the list of states to prioritize. It’s a big, expensive market that’s not even in the top five or six potential tipping point states. If all you care about is winning the election (which is what campaign staff are paid to do—win your and only your race at all costs), then paying Texas only cursory attention would be the smart play.
