GOP Lawmaker Says Cancer Has Returned

Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R-MN) said his kidney cancer has returned, just months after he shared a positive development about his health with the public, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Hagedorn “learned he had stage 4 kidney cancer in February 2019. He had elective surgery in December 2020 to remove a kidney and nearby cancerous tissues, according to an earlier statement from his office. In a speech on the House floor in March, Hagedorn said his doctor told him that there was ‘no cancer detected at this time.'”
