Pelosi Says Democrats Will Not Lift Debt Limit Alone

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said unequivocally that Democrats “won’t be putting” the debt limit extension in a budget reconciliation bill.

That means to pass in the U.S. Senate it will need the support of at least 10 Republicans.

Pelosi also noted that Democrats lifted the debt ceiling under President Donald Trump as his policies added to the debt and she expects Republicans to do the same now.
