Speaker Nancy Pelosi told House Democrats in a letter that they would “move forward to pass two jobs bills” next week: the bipartisan infrastructure bill and a budget reconciliation bill.
Politico has more Pelosi’s calculus: “She’s facing two anxious blocs within her caucus — and wants to show continued progress on President Joe Biden’s agenda.”
“Moderates are threatening to abandon reconciliation if the bipartisan infrastructure bill doesn’t pass early next week — as leadership has promised. But progressives say the two bills are linked and they won’t support the bipartisan bill without the reconciliation text ready.”
