Japan’s Defense Ministry said that North Korea has fired a “new type of ICBM,” that landed less than 200 miles from Japan, CNN reports.
New York Times: “The missile flew at an extremely steep angle, covering a distance of 683 miles before it crashed into waters west of Japan 71 minutes after liftoff.”
A White House statement called it “a brazen violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions.”
