McCarthy Pledges to Boot Key Democrats Off Committees

November 20, 2022 · 6:43 pm ET · Leave a Comment

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) vowed during an appearance on Fox News to remove several prominent House Democrats from their committee assignments if he becomes speaker of the House, Axios reports.

McCarthy also said that Republicans would “not allow” Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) to serve on the House Intelligence Committee.

He added that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) wouldn’t be allowed to serve on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, citing her “antisemitic comments.”
