Some moderate Republicans have threatened to band with Democrats and elect a bipartisan unity Speaker if conservatives succeed in derailing Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) bid, Playbook reports.
However, nearly every Democrat would have to go along with the plan, and they’re showing almost no interest.
