After a thirteenth round of voting, the House failed once again to elect a speaker.
The vote totals for the thirteenth round:
- Kevin McCarthy – 214
- Hakeem Jeffries – 212
- Other – 6
- Present – 0
McCarthy has now flipped 15 of the 21 Republican holdouts today.
However, the group of six remaining GOP holdouts — Gaetz, Crane, Rosendale, Boebert, Biggs and Good — appeared unified and were sitting together in a row.
There were two Republican members — Rep. Ken Buck and Wesley Hunt. GOP leadership expects both to return to Washington tonight.
