“Speaker Kevin McCarthy will meet with Iowa Republicans today to try to break the impasse over repeal of ethanol subsidies in the Limit, Save, Grow Act, the GOP’s debt-limit proposal,” Punchbowl News reports.
“The four Iowa Republicans – Reps. Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Zach Nunn and Randy Feenstra – have indicated to the leadership they can’t vote for the legislation if it includes the repeal of five different ethanol tax credits.”
“McCarthy can lose only four votes on this legislation, and he already has problems with some hardline conservatives.”
