A new Monmouth poll in Michigan finds Donald Trump enjoys widespread support among an enthusiastic and motivated base of potential Republican primary voters. Compared to other Republican voters, Trump backers hold more conservative attitudes on abortion access and are less concerned about the party focusing too much on this issue.
On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden has the support of 8 in 10 potential voters in his party’s primary, although only 1 in 4 are enthusiastic about the prospect of his nomination.
The poll did not offer a general election match up.
