“Johnson, who has come under a torrent of criticism for his top line spending deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, didn’t explicitly say that Congress needs to pass a stopgap spending bill to avert a shutdown by Jan. 19.”
“But Johnson’s remarks, relayed by multiple sources in the room, were taken by participants as an acknowledgment that Congress needs to do whatever it can to avert a partial shutdown in 10 days.”
“All of the members in the room agreed, with the notable exception of House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good (R-VA).”
