“The vote count to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is balancing on a pinhead,” Punchbowl News reports.
“Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) will vote no. Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) announced in a closed House Republican Conference meeting that he would vote no.”
“And Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) shocked many in the meeting when he said it’s hypocritical to impeach Mayorkas after arguing against the same type of action during the Trump administration. Gallagher also said that Republicans are opening up future GOP Cabinet secretaries to impeachment.”
“The House has four vacancies. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is out this week. And Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY) has been absent after a car accident — although he is expected to be back. Democrats are also expecting one absence on their side.”
