“The House Ethics Committee met Wednesday but did not release its report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), resisting significant pressure to release its findings after President-elect Trump selected the controversial Florida Republican to be his attorney general,” The Hill reports.
Said chair Michael Guest (R-MS): “There is not an agreement by the committee to release the report.”
Wall Street Journal: “The report was expected to be damaging to the 42-year-old Gaetz. One of the witnesses told the panel she saw Gaetz having sex with a 17-year-old girl at a party in 2017, and both she and another woman said Gaetz paid them for sex, their lawyer said Monday.”
