Rubio Says China Has Cheated to Superpower Status

January 14, 2025 · 12:15 pm ET · Leave a Comment

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) “will say China has lied and cheated its way to superpower status at the expense of the U.S., according to remarks he’s set to deliver at his confirmation hearing for secretary of state on Wednesday,” Bloomberg reports.

Said Rubio: “We welcomed the Chinese Communist Party into this global order. And they took advantage of all its benefits. But they ignored all its obligations and responsibilities. Instead, they have lied, cheated, hacked and stolen their way to global superpower status, at our expense.”
