U.S. and Russia Begin Talks to End War in Ukraine

“The US and Russia are holding talks in Saudi Arabia about the war in Ukraine – it’s the first in-person meeting since Moscow’s full-scale invasion three years ago,” the BBC reports.

“The Kremlin says Vladimir Putin is prepared to speak to Volodymyr Zelensky ‘if necessary.’”

The Financial Times notes this is “the first high-level effort to broker an end to Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine since its early stages almost three years ago, when negotiations fell apart amid the Russian president’s intractable demands.”
