President Trump said he had ordered “decisive and powerful” U.S. strikes on Yemen’s Houthi rebels after the group vowed to resume attacks on ships transiting the Red Sea and nearby waters, saying that “hell will rain down” to counter the rebels’ operations, the Wall Street Journal reports.
New York Times: “It was the opening salvo in what senior American officials said was a new offensive against the militants and a strong message to Iran, as Mr. Trump seeks a nuclear deal with its government.”
